This picture was owned by Dr Margaret (Geraldine Phoebe) Reed, elder sister of Cynthia and John Reed and aunt of Jinx Nolan. Dr Reed was a distinguished Doctor and philanthropist. Sidney Nolan had lived in a menage a trois with John and Sunday Reed at Heide in Melbourne before marrying Cynthia in 1948, the year of this picture.
